New Novice Program starting 2012 - Come and try Outrigger Paddling

Location:          Southern end of Balmoral Beach (near the oval)
Time:                Saturdays from 9.45am
What to bring:   Yourself and your enthusiasm
What to wear:   Something that can get wet, sunscreen and a cap.
Cost:                  $20 per sessionwhere payment goes towards membership fees if you decide to continue to a full member.

                                                                                                                   

We are always keen to have new members join the club.

Every year Sydney Outrigger Canoe Club run a series of ‘Novice Programs’ to introduce new paddlers to the sport of Outrigger Canoeing.

We make sure there are always plenty of experienced paddlers and coaches on hand to make your first paddle an enjoyable learning experience. More importantly, it will ensure you have the right technique and skills so your paddling will continue to improve.

The program is an introduction to the skills, traditions and social activities that are a part of outrigger canoeing and will be held over a six week period at Balmoral Beach.

What you will learn in the course:
- Learn the basics of a good paddling stroke
- Become familiar with the various responsibilities in the boat
- Paddle on our fabulous harbour
- Safety drills
- More importantly - having fun!
